New Direction

What now? Well, I've decided that vet school is not for me. Actually, the crazy debt and the financial constraints (for clients with pets needing care) are not for me. I would still love to learn as much as possible about animal care and wellness. So I've decided to set aside vet school and devote free time to volunteering with animal rescue organizations. I've done some fostering and actually "failed" with my last foster pup, Arnie. He is now a member of the family (to Belle's dismay).

I have a new job (at the same company) with great coworkers. The work is still fairly tedious but it pays the bills and offers the excellent perk of being able to work from home! I love the freedom that it allows! The only drawback is that after working from home for most of the last year, I start feeling like "business casual" dress means that I put on sweats instead of just working in my jammies.
Thankfully I didn't gain weight in the transition, but I didn't lose any either. So 3 weeks ago I decided to join Weight Watchers. Tracking what I eat isn't too bad (although I estimate quite a bit), but staying within my daily allotment of points can be tough. It's a good thing we get some weekly discretionary points!! But so far I've lost about 5 pounds. And I think I will treat myself to a massage!
